Photos from the front end...

These are photos taken by rescue volunteers who went to a NC shelter to get dogs. It should be noted that withholding medical care from animals when they are visibly sick or injured is against NC law and the stated policies of the local animal control. According to this shelter's policy, the shelter can release dogs to foster care if they feel the medical needs warrant such action.  The staff, however, has yet to agree to this despite multiple plea's from rescues and the general public.

This little guy was photographed with blood on his mouth as well as the floor and wall.


The rest of these photos show tiny newborn babies and their moms lying on the cold cement floor.  On several occasions beds have been donated to the shelter and the staff refuses to put the beds in with the moms and babies because "it is too much trouble."
